How to perform Saraswati Puja in Bengali: A guide with PDF download
Saraswati Puja is a Hindu festival that celebrates the goddess of knowledge, music, art, wisdom and learning. Saraswati is one of the trinity of goddesses, along with Lakshmi and Parvati, who assist Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in the creation, preservation and destruction of the world. Saraswati is usually depicted as a four-armed or two-armed goddess, riding a swan or a peacock, and holding a veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot. She is worshipped on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the Magha month (January-February), which is also known as Basant Panchami or Vasant Panchami. On this day, children are initiated into writing and reading by touching their fingers to the feet of the goddess. Saraswati Puja is also observed by Buddhists and Jains in some parts of India. Saraswati is revered as the patroness of knowledge, music and art in countries like Japan, Vietnam, Bali (Indonesia) and Myanmar.

Saraswati Puja Process in Bengali
Here are the main steps of performing Saraswati Puja in Bengali:
Preparation: You need to prepare a clean and decorated altar for the goddess. You can use a picture or an idol of Saraswati as the main image. You also need to arrange some items for the puja, such as flowers, incense, lamps, fruits, sweets, books, musical instruments, etc. You can also make a small earthen pot (kund) with water and place it near the image.
Seating and Invocation: You need to take a bath and wear clean clothes before starting the puja. Then you need to sit on a pure mat facing east or north in front of the altar. You need to perform achaman (sipping water) three times with the mantra "Om Vishnu" and then touch your lips, nose, eyes, ears, navel, heart, head and arms with water. Then you need to join your hands and recite the following mantras:
Om tad vishnoh paramam padam sada pasyanti surayah diviva cakshur atatam.
Om apavitrah pavitro va sarvavastham gato api va yah smaret pundarikaksham sa bahyabhyantarah shucih.
These mantras mean that Vishnu's supreme abode is always seen by the gods who have divine vision and that whoever remembers Vishnu's lotus-eyed form becomes pure both externally and internally.
Offering Flowers: You need to take some flowers in a plate and sprinkle water on them three times with the mantra "Om etebhyo gandhadibhyo namah". Then you need to offer one flower each to the following deities with their respective mantras:
Om ete gandhapushpe etad adhipataye devaya shri vishnave namah.
Om ete gandhapushpe etat sampadanebhyah pujaniya dev e0e6b7cb5c
